My Approach for Therapy

First Responders & Families

If you’re a first responder, you’ve probably dealt with people who claim to “get it” but don’t. That won’t happen here. This is a space where any call, trauma, or personal struggle is welcome—no need to filter yourself, even when it comes to the dark humor. You deserve support from someone who understands the culture, the pressure, and the weight that comes with what you do every day. Along with my personal experience as the wife of a firefighter, I’ve taken the time to learn from the inside—through ride-alongs, citizen academies, and specialized training as a Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC). I understand how tough it can be to even consider reaching out for help, especially in a field where you’re expected to always hold it together. But you don’t have to do it alone.

I also work closely with the families of first responders, who carry their own unique weights—often quietly and without recognition. Whether it’s navigating the emotional toll of the job, the unpredictability of the schedule, or the strain it can place on relationships, families deserve support too. You’re not in this alone, either.

Adolescents (13+) & Adults

In addition to my work with first responders, I also support those who may look like they have it all together on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected on the inside. I especially enjoy working with men who may be hesitant to come to therapy—those who aren’t sure it’s for them or who feel pressure to “tough it out.” If you're used to being the one others rely on, it can be hard to admit when something feels off. Whether you're navigating burnout, anxiety, past trauma, or major life transitions, therapy can be a place to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.

My Approach

Therapy with me is collaborative, solution-focused, and tailored to what works best for you. I draw from various approaches to offer practical tools you can use long after therapy. I understand how overwhelming life can be, especially when you're the one others rely on. In our work together, you'll have a space to take off the pressure, be yourself, and feel genuinely supported.

Therapist & Practice Owner

I earned both my undergraduate and master’s degrees from Roosevelt University in Chicago, where my counseling journey began. I started working one-on-one with college students in career development, then went on to complete my practicum at an intensive outpatient (IOP) facility in Schaumburg, gaining experience supporting individuals navigating addiction. I later worked in vocational rehabilitation counseling, which deepened my understanding of how people find purpose and navigate major life changes. Over time, I transitioned into private practice, where I found my passion in trauma work and supporting first responders.

Outside the therapy room—I’m married to a firefighter, raising a bold and spirited toddler, and we’ve got two wild (but sweet) dogs who keep us on our toes. I love being outdoors, getting lost in a good book or podcast, and soaking up time with my family whenever I can.
