Meet Michelle

Michelle demato

I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lewis University. As part of my graduate training, I completed both my practicum and internship in a private practice setting with a focus on DUI and substance use counseling, where I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based, client-centered care. I am actively involved in the behavioral health community and participate in coalitions dedicated to substance use treatment and stigma reduction.

I provide counseling services to adults (18+), supporting clients navigating stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use. My approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and meeting each client where they are, with an emphasis on creating a supportive and nonjudgmental space for growth and healing. I also have close family in the first responder community, which deepens my understanding of the unique stressors and experiences that can come with those roles.
