Meet Tracy

Tracy Cunningham, LCSW and Certified First Responder Counselor providing therapy for adults and first responders in Illinois

Tracy L. Cunningham

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) | Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC)

I have worked in the mental health field for more than 20 years, and throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to work with people in many different settings and through many different challenges. I work with young adults, adults, and first responders who are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, mood concerns, life changes, and other difficulties that can make everyday life harder.

I believe one of the most important parts of therapy is having a place where you can be honest about what you’re experiencing. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking about the things they may not feel they can share anywhere else. My style is genuine, empathetic, and energetic, and I work to build a relationship where you feel respected, heard, and supported.

What I Help With

I work with individuals experiencing:

  • Stress, burnout, and feeling emotionally overwhelmed

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Trauma and the effects of critical incidents

  • Challenges that come with being a first responder or helping professional

  • Major life changes and transitions

  • Relationship and personal challenges

  • Difficulty coping with day-to-day stress

I have a particular interest in working with first responders and helping professionals. As a Certified First Responder Counselor, I understand that some experiences can be difficult to explain to people who haven’t worked in similar environments. I provide a space where you can talk openly about those experiences and work through them without judgment.

A Little About Me

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and making time for the things that help me recharge. I believe having a life outside of work is important, and I try to bring that same perspective into my work with clients. Everyone needs time to step back, reconnect, and take care of themselves.

Take the Next Step

If you’re looking for someone who will listen, meet you where you are, and work with you through whatever you’re facing, I’d be happy to connect and see if we’re a good fit.
